Allison Weiner Heinemann : Biography
Allison Weiner Heinemann holds an A.B. in English (summa cum laude) from Bryn Mawr College, and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Yale University. She first came to Cornell as the Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Comparative Literature, from 2008-2010, and has been at ILR since 2011. In the Department of Labor Relations, Law, and History, Allison currently teaches ILRLR 1200: Introduction to Disability Studies (co-taught with Erin Sember-Chase) and ILRLR 2060: Writing Seminar in Law (disability-related topics vary from semester to semester). She specializes in disability studies, particularly with regard to representations of disability in culture and contemporary ethical and legal issues. Allison is also deeply invested in writing pedagogy.
