Eli Friedman : Biography
Eli Friedman joined the faculty of the ILR School's department of International and Comparative Labor in 2011 after completing his PhD in sociology at the University of California, Berkeley. His primary research focus is labor in China, and he has ongoing interests in social movements, globalization, development, political sociology, work, and theory. His publications have appeared in Mobilization, British Journal of Industrial Relations, and Journal of Democracy.
Eli's current research focuses on the relationship between migrant workers, unions, and the state in contemporary China. In addition he has a project looking at education work in both public and migrant schools in Beijing.
