ILR – Continuing the Mission
The ILR School is evolving as state, U.S. and global issues change, but its core mission has remained as it began in 1945 and continues into the next 75 years.
As the preeminent educational institution in the world focused on work, employment and labor, ILR generates and shares knowledge that improves the lives of workers and transforms the future of work.
In this video, Dean Alex Colvin discussed the relevancy of the school’s research, teaching and outreach with David Lipsky ’61, who has been part of the ILR School since the 1950s, when he enrolled as an undergraduate. He joined the faculty in 1969, served as dean during the 1990s and taught for 50 years, giving his last lecture in December 2019.
