You will also hear from partners Yannet Lathrop, Senior Researcher and Policy Analyst for the National Employment Law Project (NELP), and Dr. Karen King, Executive Director of the Erie County Commission on the Status of Women, on how they use the tool. Join this event for a live demonstration of the Cornell ILR Wage Atlas. The Atlas is an interactive, publicly available, and free tool that allows users to dive into detailed wage data by profession and different demographic variables at the county and regional levels in New York State. In conversation with Yannet Lathrop, Senior Researcher and Policy Analyst for the National Employment Law Project (NELP), and Karen King, Executive Director of the Erie County Commission on the Status of Women, the architect of the tool, Dr. Russel Weaver of the Cornell ILR Buffalo Co-Lab, will share:
- The latest updates to the Atlas, including data on disability status and citizenship
- Recent findings to come from the Atlas on the cost of living and how low-wage workers are affected
- Three case studies of how to use the tool, including to simulate new state minimum wages.
