Continuing their winning streak, Speech dominates at OCHO IE.

Speech traveled to compete in Easton, Pennsylvania from October 14th through 16th.

During mid-October, Cornell’s Speech team participated at the OCHO IE tournament in Easton, Pennsylvania.

For After Dinner Speaking Asha Prabhat ranked 1st Best speaker, followed by Anya Khanna in 2nd place, Aidan Helfant in 4th, and Anna Cecilia Fierro in 5th. For Communication Analysis, Eva Egeghy scored the 1st position, while Rushika Prasad ranked 2nd place. In Duo Interpretation, Asha Prabhat & Jaliah Smith ranked 2nd, followed by Byron Quevedo & Ian Gilenson in 6th position. For the Extemporaneous Speaking category, Eva Egeghy ranked 5th and Rushika Prasad ranked 6th. In Impromptu Speaking, Eva Egeghy resulted in 1st place, with Anna Cecilia Fierro in 3rd, Gow Krishnakumar in 4th, and An Gilenson in 5th place. For the Informative Speaking category, Aidan Helfant ranked 3rd place. In Persuasive, Asha Prabhat placed 1st with Anya Khanna in 4th. For the Poetry Interpretation category, Jaliah Smith finished in 2nd place. In Program Oral Interpretation, Anna Cecilia Fierro ranked 1st, followed by Hannah Quigley in 3rd position. Last but not least, for Prose Interpretation Hannah Quigley ranked 2nd place. 

Overall, Speech won best team at OCHO IE, as well as Speech captain, Asha Prabhat, achieving the best overall speaker award for the whole tournament!
