Professional Work History:
Courtney has successfully facilitated negotiations in hundreds of disputes using both the facilitative and transformative mediation models. Her mediation experience includes commercial, civil, employment, workplace, personal injury, community, special education, housing (residential landlord-tenant), intellectual property, co-parenting (custody & visitation), divorce, adult family, and pet disputes in several settings: community dispute resolution centers, the New York State Unified Court System, a non-profit organization and private mediation practice.
An experienced educator, Courtney enhances her conflict resolution work through teaching. She is a Teaching Associate at Columbia University for the Introduction to Negotiation, Introduction to Mediation and Fieldwork courses. Additionally, Courtney teaches Conflict and Negotiation and Argumentation and Advocacy as an Online Adjunct Instructor at Grand Canyon University and serves as a Negotiation Coach with the Women In Negotiation (WIN) Summit. Recently, she was appointed to serve on the Fulbright Specialist roster through the U.S. Department of State, and she regularly presents and publishes on conflict resolution, law, and human resources-related topics.
Before founding her mediation practice, Courtney worked in human resources management, gaining experience in employee and labor relations in the technology and healthcare industries; and she balanced her experience by working at a labor union and in legal research.
An attorney in New York, Courtney is a graduate of the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University, the Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Master’s Program at Columbia University, and St. John's University School of Law.
