As founder and Executive Director of Freelancers Union, Sara Horowitz has been helping the new workforce build solutions together for nearly two decades.
A MacArthur Foundation "Genius" fellow and Deputy Chair of the Federal Reserve of New York, Sara is a leading voice for the emerging economy. Today, 42 million Americans are independent workers – about one-third of the entire workforce.

Beth C. Florin M.S. '85
Beth Florin '85 is a Managing Director at Pearl Meyer & Partners where she leads the survey and employee compensation practice areas and serves on the firm's Executive Committee.
Ms. Florin was a co-founder of Executive Alliance, a technology industry compensation consultancy that was acquired by Pearl Meyer & Partners (at that time known as Clark Consulting) in 2001. Prior to that, Ms. Florin was a Senior Human Resource Consultant with William M. Mercer, Incorporated's High Tech Compensation Practice and held human resource positions at Data General Corporation.
Ms. Florin currently serves as a Vice President on the ILR Alumni Association Board where she leads the membership committee; she is a member of the ILR Dean's Advisory Council; and she also participates on the Cornell University Council.
