The topic of her dissertation was “Performance Appraisal, Incentive Payment and Pay Settlements: A Study using EstablishmentLevel Data".
Current Research at ILR
At the ILR School, she will be working on the relationship between individual characteristics and the use of different incentive mechanisms. In particular, she will take into account the use of performance related pay, bonus pay, rising wage profiles, and promotion opportunities. The main goal is to test the notion of multidimensional sorting. In other words, the use of specific incentive mechanisms may attract workers with specific attributes. This is a relevant issue for employers who need to bear in mind that the choice of incentives conditions the composition of their workforce, and consequently, it could affect organizational performance.
