Tilde Siglev is a visiting fellow at the ILR School from the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology at the Central European University. Her research interests include racial politics, nature, and labor in the US South. More specifically, her doctoral dissertation is an ethnography of the commercial fishery in Louisiana in which she explores political projects and ideas emerging at the intersection of environmental and economic precarity. Her work analyzes the significance of historical and contemporary processes of racial politics for labor relations within the commercial fishery, and the ways in which ideas of the environment takes on meaning in the context of ongoing economic and environmental crisis.
