Current Research at ILR
Li's research will focus mainly on the role of formal mentoring, including the antecedents and the consequences. She plans to do a thorough literature review on formal mentoring programs and will carry out a comparative analysis of the formal mentoring programs in Europe, the United States and China. Following the comparative analysis, her research will then investigate the status quo of mentoring programs put into practice within the manufacturing industry in China. With first hand data, Li's study aims to analyze what factors influence and what benefits result from formal mentoring. She hopes to develop a reliable tool to measure formal mentoring functions and to test the concept model. Li will also explore and discuss the managerial tactics on formal mentoring programs.
