Starbucks Organizing Discussion April 22
"The Moment for a Movement: Starbucks and the Slow Drip of Starting a Union" is a Union Days event.
The ins and outs of unionizing a workplace and the legal methods Starbucks has used to delay worker organizing votes will feature Starbucks workers and labor lawyers from noon to 2 April 22.
Starbucks baristas from Buffalo, Ithaca and Memphis will discuss their organizing efforts, discharges, retaliation and other issues.
Perspectives on how labor law reform could help workers organize will be provided by lawyers Mark Pearce, A&S '75, former chairman of the National Labor Relations Board; Mike Dolce '11 and moderator Cathy Creighton,'87, director, ILR Buffalo Co-Lab.
