Supply Chain in Chaos: What’s Ahead?

Duncan Scott, A&S ’81, of New Balance Athletic Shoe, a leading footwear brand, and Anne Patricia Sutanto of PT. Pan Brother Tbk, the largest garment manufacturer in Indonesia, will talk with Colvin, the Kenneth F. Kahn ’69 Dean and the Martin F. Scheinman ’75, M.S. ’76, Professor of Conflict Resolution at ILR. The school is the home of the New Conversations Project, dedicated to independent research and action that measurably improves labor conditions in global supply chains.
Scott, senior vice president, Strategic Sourcing & Quality for New Balance, is base in Boston. He started his career in the industry in 1986 and has held global leadership roles in footwear and apparel sourcing and manufacturing in Korea, Taiwan, China, Brazil and Hong Kong.
He was country manager for China for Reebok, and head of global footwear sourcing for adidas before joining New Balance in 2010.
Based in Jakarta, Sutanto is vice CEO of PT. Pan Brothers Tbk, Indonesia’s largest garment manufacturer which supplies to numerous global brands and has approximately 34,000 employees across 25 factories in Java Island, Indonesia.
Born into a business family with interests in logging and the integrated wood industry, she joined PT. Pan Brothers Tbk in 1997. In 2015, she was featured as one of the most powerful women in Asia by Forbes Asia. She is on the advisory board of ILR’s New Conversations Project
