Scheinman Board Member Belen Honored With Alumni Award
The Frank H.T. Rhodes Alumni Service Award, a prestigious honor given to Cornell alumni who have demonstrated extraordinary service to Cornell through long-term volunteer activity, has been awarded to Ariel Belen, JD ‘81. An advisory board member of the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution, Belen served as a justice of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York before becoming a noted arbitrator and mediator. He has worked on international and domestic disputes, including as federal facilitator for the New York City Police Department stop-and-frisk policy.
