Claire Sandman Malcomb
Doctoral Student, Organizational Behavior, ILR School
Claire studies the organizational and psychological drivers of and barriers to engagement in ally behavior. Throughout her research program, she aims to understand 1) how potential allies (e.g., people who have a non-marginalized identity) conceptualize their role as allies 2) the decision calculus potential allies go through when confronted with an opportunity to engage in ally behavior and 3) how organizations and leaders can increase engagement in ally behavior. Ultimately, Claire hopes her work will develop more inclusive leaders and organizations by strengthening our theoretical and practical understanding of the critical role allies play in creating cultures of inclusion and a more equitable society.
