Angelo Angelone
Angelo Angelone started his career with the Cement and Concrete Workers in 1986. Beginning as a journey worker, he worked his way up through the ranks, eventually becoming a shop steward and earning a position on Local 6As executive board. This experience then led to his work as an organizer for the union in 2000, in which he worked across the city organizing nonunion workers to join the union and advocating for key issues, such as job safety and fair wages. While organizing, he also spent some time as a part-time instructor at the Cement & Concrete Workers training center. In 2010, Angelo was elected by his membership to serve as the Secretary Treasurer for Local 6A, and in 2012, he became the Business Manager for Local 6A. In 2016, he was appointed to Business Manager for the Cement and Concrete Workers District Council, representing the union’s three locals, and he has served in that role since. As President, Angelo represents his members on the Building and Construction Trades Council and LiUNA's executive board, supports and advises the union’s local presidents and business managers, and spearheads the union’s advocacy and legislative efforts to continue to fight for the expansion of jobs and opportunities for his membership.
